Was this improv? I’ll change my mind about the film if it was improv. It felt like improv. Specifically it felt like an improv troupe’s attempt at recreating something out of season one of Broad City. Unfortunately, it ended up feeling a lot more like the final season of Broad City.

Why did I watch this in the first place? Well, I wanted to see some of Miranda Cosgrove’s recent work, and you know what… she’s great. Loved how she said “fuck”. It’s her favorite swear word, after all.

I kinda hated this, I kinda loved it, I don’t know. Esther Povitsky is a fun performer. She’s fun to watch. It’s also fun to see that they clearly filmed exterior shots for this movie about a five minute walk from my house. Passing Long Beach off as CHICAGO. Crazy work. I get it though, because I’ve been lusting after that funky Piet Mondrian-inspired bus stop for years. It’s such a good backdrop, plus it’s literally right up against an abandoned drugstore. Kismet.

I generally dislike assigning star ratings to films but this one I RATE ONE SINGLE STAR. Sorry.
