Sleepaway Camp (1983)

First time watch! Can you believe it. I know it’s a cult classic and everything but I guess I wasn’t expecting it to be this campy. I likened it to Halloween or something. No, this is like really midnight movie level of cheesy acting and whack writing but that’s okay. It works well enough for what it is.

The backstory? Nonsense, I’m sorry. What the hell happened with the boat crash on the lake? That was horribly written, directed, staged, etc etc. I wanna be a bitch about something. Now I’ll be nice: fabulous costume design. Don’t let anyone tell you your shorts are too short! Dare to go even shorter in the brave face of criticism!

One more fashion moment before I move on. This kid had an absolutely rotten attitude but nothing can make me hate that mullet.

I just defended Carrie for similar bad behavior so I guess it’s only fair to extend Angela the same graces. She honestly did less damage overall, although curling-iron-to-the-vagina is not a classy move. But class aside, Angela has been through some shit. What do you expect?
