Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004)

This is the perfect movie to watch if you’re in the 20s and your doctor dad is making you feel like a failure but you low key don’t want to do anything other than smoke some more weed and get a snack. Ooooh, and a Diet Coke. My doctor dad keeps hounding me to expand my business and I’m honestly just trying to get a vegan cheeseburger and some fries. If I take him too seriously I will freak out! Blazing through it is the only way. Amen!

Some things that tickled me:

Normally it think special effects and CGI in general are so cheesy and dumb but I love everything they’re doing here. Pure gold. Pure nostalgia, really.

The romantic montage of Kumar’s love affair with the bag of weed. Classic.

Running into the same guys all over town is the best running gag. And why does this happen to me no matter how big of a city I’m in?

“There’s no sense getting all riled up every time a bunch of idiots give you a hard time. In the end, the universe tends to unfold as it should.”

I need to cross stitch this and hang it on the wall or something so I can really get it through my head. Hope I can have a Harold-type epiphany someday where these words come back to me at just the right moment so I keep my cool and totally come out on top.

God I don’t know if I’ve even been to an actual White Castle before. I would kill for some of their veggie sliders right now.
